Global Health Partnerships (GHP)
Overview
Global Health Partnerships (GHP) focus on bringing together healthcare institutions, governments, academic organisations, and volunteers to collaboratively address health challenges worldwide. By sharing expertise, resources and best practice they aim to strengthen health systems, improve access to care and build the skills and capacity of the healthcare workforce, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
Our work with GHP
ABS has worked with Global Health Partnerships on the Global Breast Cancer Training Package, alongside Blended Learning UK, the Ugandan Cancer Institute and Cancer Diseases Hospital Zambia. The collaboration has supported curriculum development, stakeholder engagement, needs analysis and the creation of training resources for breast cancer awareness, early diagnosis and referral in community and primary care settings.
The College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA)
Overview
The College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA) is the largest surgical training institution in Sub-Saharan Africa. It provides a common surgical training programme, examinations and internationally recognised qualifications, helping to strengthen the surgical workforce across the region.
Our work with COSECSA
ABS’s engagement with COSECSA supports shared professional learning and collaboration around breast cancer education, workforce development and capacity building. This partnership provides an important regional platform for strengthening surgical training and supporting locally led improvements in breast cancer care.
Association of Breast Surgeons of India (ABSI)
Overview
The Association of Breast Surgeons of India is a professional body representing breast surgeons and clinicians involved in breast care across India. It supports education, professional development, clinical standards and collaboration within breast surgery.
Our work with the Association of Breast Surgeons of India
ABS has worked with Indian clinical partners including the Association of Breast Surgeons of India in relation to education and capacity building. This collaboration supports shared professional learning, faculty input and breast cancer awareness activity linked to ABS’s wider international work in India.
Ambuja Foundation
Overview
Ambuja Foundation is a development organisation working with rural communities in India to improve health, education, livelihoods and community wellbeing. Its health programmes focus on practical, community-based approaches that strengthen local awareness and access to care.
Our work with the Ambuja Foundation
ABS has supported the Ambuja Foundation’s breast cancer awareness and education work in rural India. Collaboration has included clinical education, community awareness activity, capacity-building workshops and support for improving early detection and referral through local healthcare and community networks.
United Bulawayo Hospitals
Overview
United Bulawayo Hospitals is a major public healthcare institution in Zimbabwe and a key clinical partner in breast cancer service development in Matabeleland South. The hospital provides specialist clinical expertise and acts as an important hub for training, diagnostics and multidisciplinary breast cancer care.
Our work with United Bulawayo Hospitals
ABS has worked with United Bulawayo Hospitals on the Matabeleland South Breast Cancer Project, supporting diagnostic breast clinic development, breast ultrasound training, surgical education, fellowship opportunities, data systems and multidisciplinary service improvement.
