Supporting breast care globally through partnership and collaboration
The ABS International Committee is active in the global health space, working in partnership with lower‑ and middle‑income country stakeholders, higher‑income country partners and international organisations. Through these collaborations, we aim to promote education and training, strengthen multidisciplinary working and support the development of local standards of care to improve outcomes for breast cancer patients worldwide.
Our international work is focused on sustainable, collaborative initiatives that respond to locally identified needs and priorities. By sharing expertise and learning across healthcare systems, we support capacity‑building while fostering mutual professional development.
The International Committee seeks to:
- Support ABS members’ participation in international projects and partnerships
- Be receptive to collaboration with overseas colleagues and organisations
- Promote ethical, sustainable and locally led approaches to global breast care
- Recognise and champion the principle of reverse innovation, ensuring learning from international work informs and benefits patient care and healthcare systems in the UK
International activity within ABS reflects a commitment to shared learning, professional exchange and global equity in breast cancer care.
