Guideline Writing Groups
The ABS has developed a checklist for the working groups it creates to produce new guidance. There is now a standardised process for the development of all guidelines in future. Groups are required to outline their methodology and follow the GRADE and AGREE II principles in relation to levels of evidence and grading of recommendations. Please see the Guidance document below for more information.
The ABS is aware that many of its members have experience, which may be of use in the development of guidance. If you would like to be considered for future guideline groups, please send Lucy Davies (lucydavies@absgbi.org.uk) a short (three page) CV, along with the guidance areas you would be interested in being considered for in future.
The ABS would also like to hear from its members about any areas, which they feel should have new guidance developed. Please e-mail your ideas to Lucy Davies for consideration by the Clinical Practice & Standards Committee.
