Introduction to Breast Care Nursing Course: Mentors Required
Blended Learning UK are delighted to say that the Introduction to Breast Care Nursing Course, launched in 2023, has been very successful, with excellent feedback. This course has been developed through a collaboration between the Association of Breast Surgery International Forum and the James Paget University Hospital to introduce Staff Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Radiographers and Physician Associates working in the UK and abroad to the principles of Breast Care Nursing, which is a much-needed service in light of the increasing incidences of breast cancer worldwide.
Part of this 12-week course involves providing some mentoring via a weekly discussion board.
A discussion board (known also by various other names such as discussion group, discussion forum, message board, and online forum) is a general term for any online "bulletin board" where you can leave and expect to see responses to messages you have left. Or you can just read the board.
They are looking for volunteers to assist with overseeing this discussion board which would only take maximum 1 hour per week for the 12-week duration of the course to answer any queries that may be on there or to add a question yourself. As well as supporting colleagues who are possibly new to breast care, it will also look well on your CV, and you will have the opportunity of being allocated CPD hours for your participation. If you would like to support this, please let them know. Also, if you know any colleagues internationally who are experienced breast care practitioners please enquire if they would be available to support nurses in their respective countries
