RCS accepting applications for Breast Surgical Specialty Lead vacancy

The RCS Surgical Trials Initiative, in partnership with the Association of Breast Surgery and Breast Cancer Now, is inviting applications for a Surgical Specialty Lead in Breast Surgery.

Surgical Specialty Leads have responsibility both for the development of clinical networks to deliver multi-centre studies and ensuring that the studies are relevant to their subspecialty and their patients.

The post-holder will lead the development of surgical clinical research within the specialty of breast surgery and be a part of the RCS Surgical Trials Initiative network, which currently has 10 Surgical Specialty Leads and 7 Surgical Trials Centres across the UK. The Breast Surgical Specialty Lead will be affiliated to the Association of Breast Surgery, with whom they will work to develop the clinical trials and clinical networks.

The Association of Breast Surgery would like to invite members to apply for this position, to build on the great work carried out by the late Prof Adele Francis in developing clinical research in our specialty.

The application deadline is 1pm on 11th September. Shortlisting will be carried out on 14th September and interviews will take place on 25th October 2017.
