The role description for the post can be viewed here and includes:

  • Representing the members in your region at the ABS nursing committee meetings. Providing feedback from them to the meetings and raising issues on their behalf.

  • Liaising with the surgical and trainee ABS regional reps about regional projects and the delivery of an ABS regional meeting every two years.
  • Opportunities to get involved in the ABS Conference and Nursing Conference such as: abstract marking & chairing sessions
  • Opportunities to get involved in the work of the committee such as guidance writing & work on nurse job descriptions and training.

We would encourage nurses in these regions to consider putting themselves forward for these roles.  If you wish to discuss the roles please call Lucy Davies on 07936 359533.  To apply submit a short (3 page) CV and a letter expressing your interest in the role and outlining what you would bring to it to Lucy Davies at lucydavies@absgbi.org.ukWe have extended the deadline for these posts to 9am on the 11th December 2023.

The ABS is looking for a new representative on the Oncoplastic Training Interface Group (TIG) from March 2024 when the current representative, Douglas Ferguson, comes to the end of his term.

The ABS is looking for expressions of interest from full members, who might wish to represent them on the group.  We would ask that applicants consider whether they have time to fulfil this role before they put themselves forward.  As the committee is small, each member is vital.

Applications should be submitted by Friday 5th January 2024 at 9am to lucydavies@absgbi.org.uk.
