Mr Ian Paterson FRCS, a general and breast surgeon, who worked at the NHS Solihull Hospital, Little Aston and Solihull Spire private hospitals, was suspended by the General Medical Council (GMC) in 2012 for performing ‘unnecessary' and 'inappropriate’ breast surgery on large numbers of women over many years. He is due to appear at the Birmingham Crown Court on the 15th February 2017.
