ABS Lifetime Achievement Award

A new award to recognise significant contribution to breast care.

The Association of Breast Surgery is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award, aimed at recognising exceptional contributions in the field of breast care.

The ABS is keen to highlight and acknowledge the work of our members and the contributions they make to both breast care and the wider healthcare community. From implementing innovative practice and improving breast awareness to contributing to research and training; the wide-ranging impact our members have cannot be understated.

To celebrate these achievements at every level and in recognition of the multi-disciplinary nature of breast care, the ABS will award two lifetime achievement awards: one to a surgeon member and one to a nurse member (retired or current) in 2025.

Leena Chagla, ABS President said: “Our members contribute in countless ways to improving patient care and outcomes. They have also influenced advances in breast cancer management both in this country and further afield. The ABS Lifetime Achievement Award is our way of honouring their long-standing commitment and the diverse ways in which they’ve made a difference.”

Following the deadline for applications, ABS members will be able to vote for the shortlisted candidate they think are most deserving of the awards.
