Following the statement by RSC England Council discussion on Surgical Care Practitioner scope of practice, the ABS wants to reiterate that all breast operations, be it for benign or malignant conditions, should only be performed by medically qualified and appropriately surgically trained professionals.
We ask our members to please stick to the scope of practice when training SCPs in the interest of patient safety, and the training of surgeons of the future.
