Lisa is Consultant Surgeon specialising in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery.  She has been a Consultant at The Rotherham Foundation NHS Trust since 2017. She qualified from Leicester medical school in 1992 and undertook most of her surgical training in South Yorkshire as a Clinical lecturer.  Her training highlights include: Anatomy Demonstrator at UMDS London under the mentorship and supervision of Professor Harold Ellis and Barbers’ Company Professor Vishy Mahadevan MBBS PhD FRCS - where her love of teaching started; Two personal awards to conduct her research and support her training - RCS Research Fellowship and a 5-year CRUK clinical training Fellowship in Psychosocial Aspects of Cancer, TIG fellowship in Oncoplastic breast surgery in Newcastle - where she had free reign to consolidate her training and solidify her base for her consultant role. She continues to teach on ABS and university courses on breast cancer and decision making.

Mr Adam Critchley is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon in the Newcastle Breast Centre, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne. He treats over 175 breast cancers per year. He qualified from Newcastle Medical School in 2001 with Distinction and completed the majority of his surgical training in the North-East. He spent 12 months as a national TIG Oncoplastic Fellow in Sheffield in 2011-12. He has a strong interest in clinical research and is Principal Investigator in 3 NIHR portfolio studies. He is a teaching faculty member for the Royal College of Surgeons level 1 Oncoplastic course, National TIG fellow cadaveric course, Regional Higher Surgical Trainees course and the Association of Breast Surgery Trainees Annual Meeting

Ms Anushka Chaudhry is a Consultant Oncoplastic and Cosmetic Breast Surgeon in Wiltshire. Being at the forefront of breast cancer care, she combines surgical expertise with a deep commitment to advocacy and education.  She is also Acting Deputy Chief Medical Officer of her hospital trust. 

In addition to her clinical work, Anushka serves as the chair of a young women's breast cancer charity, Aurora Breast Cancer Wellbeing, where she spearheads initiatives to support and empower those affected by breast cancer. 

Driven by a passion for equity in healthcare, Anushka is deeply involved in efforts to reduce inequalities in breast cancer treatment among ethnic minorities. Through educational outreach, community engagement, and advocacy campaigns, she works tirelessly to raise awareness and address systemic barriers to care. 

As an educator, Anushka shares her knowledge and expertise with colleagues, students, and the public. Through lectures, workshops, and mentorship programs, she inspires the next generation of healthcare professionals to prioritize compassion and advocacy in their practice.

Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital

Rachel Tillett is a Consultant in Plastic and Oncoplastic Breast Surgery in Exeter, and was appointed in 2013. Having studied at Oxford University and St Mary’s, she completed plastic surgery training in the south west. This was followed by a National Breast TIG Fellowship in Exeter.

She performs her own resectional work alongside a DIEP practice,  other forms of total breast reconstruction, chest wall perforator flaps and all other oncoplastic techniques.

She is passionate about providing more patient access to chest wall perforator flaps and was the first surgeon to develop a practice in the south west.

Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro

Mr Brown was appointed as Consultant Oncoplastic Breast and General Surgeon at RCHT in July 2006. As Cornwall’s first Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon, he successfully introduced and developed the new and comprehensive oncoplastic breast service for the women of Cornwall. The RCHT Breast Unit (at the Mermaid Centre and St Michaels Hospital, Hayle), is now one of the only breast units in the UK to have 5 Specialist Oncoplastic Consultant Breast Surgeons and is recognised both nationally and internationally.

Frimley Park Hospital

Isabella has been a Consultant Oncoplastic Surgeon at Frimley Health NHS Trust since 2009, where she is the Clinical Lead for Frimley Park Breast Unit and The Parapet Unit in Windsor. She is passionate and dedicated in the training of oncoplastic breast surgery where she now mentors three Oncoplastic Fellows across the Trust. She was recently appointed Communications Ordinary Trustee to the ABS and she currently serves as Director of Course Development. Isabella has taught on the UEA Masters in Breast Oncoplastic Surgery for 13 years and has been the ABS Yearbook Editor since 2021. Her special interests include revisional surgery and using Lean methodology to improve efficiencies and surgical outcomes.

Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester

Mr Murphy is a specialist in all types of breast problems, whether it be pain, lumps, cosmetic issues or cancer related problems. He specializes in breast cancer surgery, breast reconstruction, male breast surgery and cosmetic breast surgery. His sub-specialist clinical interest is in revisional cosmetic breast surgery and risk reducing surgery.

Royal United Hospital, Bath

Mr Richard Sutton is a Consultant Breast Surgeon specialising in oncoplastic, reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery at Bath Clinic. He also holds a substantive NHS consultant post at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath and was appointed in 2003.

Mr Robert Thomas is a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Mr Thomas treats and performs surgery on patients with benign and malignant breast diseases diagnosed through the one-stop breast clinic and breast screening. He provides reconstructive surgery following mastectomy and contributes to the paediatric breast service.

UWE Bristol

Dr Helena Lewis-Smith is an applied health psychology researcher known for exploring body image and developing interventions in education, community and clinical settings with children and adults. 

Helena obtained her BSc in Applied Psychology from Cardiff University (2010) and MSc in Health Psychology from the University of the West of England (2011). With a PhD exploring body image among breast cancer survivors (2017), Helena is passionate about conducting and translating research which promotes positive body image into real-life social impact at a local, national, and global scale.
