Formerly known as Specialty Skills in Breast Surgery (Level 2), this course covers the principles of breast symmetrisation surgery, lipomodelling and Latissimus Dorsi Flap breast reconstruction.
Overview
This cadaveric & skills based course is aimed at breast and plastic surgery trainees (ST5-8) as well as consultant surgeons, associate specialists, trust surgeons, breast care nurses and reconstruction nurses wishing to develop an interest in reconstructive breast surgery.
This is an excellent introduction to the complex concepts and principles of immediate and delayed reconstructive breast surgery. This includes essential issues around patient selection, informed consent, psychological evaluation and research. It provides in depth teaching and demonstration of current techniques in implant based reconstruction with the opportunity of cadaveric dissection in the simulated skills laboratory.
