Dr. Amit Agrawal, MS, FRCSEd, DM, FRCS, is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and an affiliated Associate Professor at Cambridge University Hospitals, UK. He introduced Advanced Oncoplastic Surgery in Cambridge, transforming it into an internationally recognised Oncoplastic unit. He established the Oncoplastic Breast Course, which includes chest wall perforator flap, mammaplasty, and implant dissection.
He leads the ‘Brecon’ collaborative research initiative, which includes the 'PartBreCon-Pro' (a prospective international study on chest wall perforator flaps) and the 'PerfAct' studies. He has secured several grants from the UK National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
He is a member of various societies, including the ABS Academic and Research Committee, and has served as an expert reviewer and adviser for NICE, NIHR, and breast-specific journals. He has acted as a lead for research modules and an examiner for the MSc and MS Oncoplastic degrees in Breast Surgery at the University of East Anglia, UK.
He lectures internationally and has authored over 120 publications, including co-editing a book on perforator flaps and those related to endocrine therapy research (Academic Surgical Trainee, University of Nottingham). He has served as a co-investigator in multiple trials: Pioneer, PBCP, Atnec, Miami, Neo-RT, MarginProbe, LoRis, Posnoc, Poetic, Atac, Ibis1 & 2, Iressa57, 225, 004; Efect, First, Latte, Zofast, Fhem.
