European guidelines for the diagnosis, treatment and follow up of breast lesions with uncertain malignant potential (B3)

In 2024, European guidelines for the diagnosis, treatment and follow up of lesions with uncertain malignant potential (B3 lesions) were published in the EJSO. The document gives an up to date overview of the diagnosis, management and prognosis of B3 lesions. The guidance contains useful information about assessing the risk of cancer upgrade and the risk of developing breast cancer in the future for individual patients. It also contains pragmatic advice on how best to communicate these risks to patients.
