UK Breast Cancer Clinical Study Group

UK Breast Cancer Clinical Study Group

The UK Breast Cancer Clinical Studies Group would like to invite applications for membership.

Following the recent winding up of the UK National Cancer Research Institute and its Research Group, there remains a need for a breast cancer clinical research group within the UK, to improve outcomes for people with breast cancer by facilitating participation in clinical trials and producing practice changing research outputs.

With the support of Breast Cancer Now, a new UK Breast Cancer Clinical Studies Group will be constituted, and the full remit and terms of reference of the group are available here.

We would now like to invite applications for membership from the following disciplines and groups:

• Medical Oncology
• Clinical Oncology
• Surgery
• Pathology
• Radiology
• CTU representatives and staff/methodologists
• Allied Health Professionals
• Qualitative Researchers
• Patient advocates
• Early career researchers of all disciplines

Members will be appointed for a period of three years, renewable for an additional three years.

Applicants should send a short letter outlining their reasons for applying for membership, accompanied by a short (two page) CV summarising their relevant experience, by Friday 17th May to s.mcintosh@qub.ac.uk. The first meeting of the new group will be held on Tuesday 11th June 2024 and it is anticipated that successful applicants will be able to attend this meeting.

Any queries should be directed to s.mcintosh@qub.ac.uk
