Kit is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Breast Surgery at the University of Bristol. She is chair of the Mammary Fold Academic & Research Collaborative and Royal College of Surgeons Associate Surgical Specialty Lead (aSSL) for Breast Surgery. She combines research activities with her final years of surgical training in the Severn region. Kit's research interests are to improve outcomes for breast surgery patients, through designing, developing and conducting high quality collaborative clinical research answering questions of importance to both patients and professionals. Recent studies include Diamond, RESTORE C-19 and performing the data analysis for the James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership for Breast Surgery.

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Trust

Tom is the current Chair of the Mammary Fold. He is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer and ST8 Breast Surgery Registrar in Exeter. His current research interests lie in translational research, where he collaborates with Professor Stone's group at the University of Exeter using Raman Spectroscopy in breast surgery.  He has been the MF South West Peninsula Regional Representative, secretary to the Mammary Fold 2021-2023 and currently sits on the Mammary Fold Academic Committee.

Lisa's undergraduate studies were at GKT, were she graduated in 2008. Postgraduate training started in London and continued in Wessex. She obtained her CCT in General Surgery with Oncoplastic Breast surgery in March 2023. Miss Sheehan is the current National Oncoplastic Breast TiG Fellow in Exeter and will be taking up her consultant post in Plymouth Hospital in September 2024. Miss Sheehan was the Chair of the Mammary Fold Academic and Research Collaborative (MFAC) from 2018-2021 and is still a current committee member. She is currently undertaking the final year of her Oncoplastic Breast MSc degree from UEA.

Mitali went out of programme in 2020 at ST5 level to study for a PhD at the University of Liverpool. She had completed a basic sciences degree prior to studying medicine and has carried on her interests through her PhD work. Mitali is passionate about promoting more basic sciences/translational medicine research and has been through the funding application process many times so is keen to help and support others to secure funding. Mitali is currently funded by RCSEng and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital Charitable Funds Committee.

Jess is currently an ST7 oncoplastic breast trainee in the North East of England. Jess completed her MBBS at Newcastle University in 2013 and has remained in the region for her core and higher surgical training. Jess has also completed a Masters in Research (MRes transplantation with distinction) and postgraduate qualifications in both medical education (PGCert) and clinical leadership (Mary Seacole programme). She has been a member of the MFAC committee for 3 years now and enjoys helping to increase regional involvement in some of our nationally run collaborative studies. 

Surgical trainee in the West of Scotland, currently in post as an Associate Surgical Speciality Lead in Breast Surgery with the ABS. I am fairly new to the research platform but enjoying the learning process and due to commence an Out of Programme Research Post in August 2023 completing an MD in the relationship between breast cancer post-operative complications, and breast cancer recurrence/survival.

Sarah is currently a General Surgical ST6 working in Yorkshire, and about to go on maternity leave as she is expecting twins! Sarah has always had an interest in research, and following completing the Academic Foundation Programme in East Midlands, she was lucky enough to have an excellent Core Surgical placement at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester where she was actively involved in recruiting for multiple clinical trials.  This led her to seek more opportunities once she started Higher Surgical Training and she really enjoyed being an Associate PI during her ST3 year for the Sunflower Trial. Outside of work, Sarah loves to cook and sing in a local pop choir - think Glee, but for adults!
