Inaugural Mammary Fold Trainer of the Year Award 2025 - Nominations are open

Modern breast training has never been as challenging as it is today, given the ever-changing landscape of Oncoplastic Breast Surgery and the development of ever-more sophisticated techniques and clinical management. The modern Breast Surgery Trainer plays a critical role in the development of the Consultants of the future. It is important that trainees have access to skilled and driven trainers who can support them in their acquisition of clinical, operative, and additional professional skills. It is impossible to attain competency in a timely manner without their constant guidance and supervision. It is imperative that consultant surgeons prioritize surgical training after patient safety and provide training at an appropriate level to enable trainees to advance in the well-known time and resource constraints that services are currently facing.

The Mammary Fold is now in search of the most accomplished trainer to receive the Inaugural Mammary Fold Trainer of the Year Award 2025, in recognition of the vital role that Consultants play in our training.

Nominations are currently open! Please take into account the framework of the Faculty of Surgical trainers, the Royal College of Edinburgh when nominating your most outstanding trainer of the year in breast surgery found here.
