The Association of Breast Surgery is a membership association for over 1,800 breast surgeons and breast care nurses. It holds an annual conference, which is attended by over 800 delegates. The conference programme includes sessions on oncological, oncoplastic and aesthetic breast surgery. There are also sessions on breast audits, including the NHS Breast Screening Programme audit and updates on the latest trials and research. Following a call for abstracts there are oral and poster presentations of submitted work.
In 2022 the Association of Breast Surgery is offering 10 bursaries for medical students to attend the ABS Conference, which is being held in Liverpool on the 16th and 17th May. Medical Students are asked to submit abstracts, demonstrating their interest in the field of breast surgery. These could be in the areas of patients’ education, clinical assessment, surgical innovation or adjuvant treatments. The best 10 abstracts will be presented as posters during the conference. The presenter of the best poster will receive a prize of £50.
