Anyone wishing to benefit from the discounts for ABS members can join the ABS today.  The form can be downloaded from this website and the annual subscription fee is just £55 for trainees (ST4 and above), £120 for interspecialty members and £280 for consultant, staff grade and SAS surgeons.

Abstract submission is now closed

Submitting authors will hear in early February as to whether their abstract has been accepted or not.

Sunday 14th June 2020: Drinks Reception at the Highcliff Marrott Hotel

A complimentary drinks reception will be held for delegates from 6.30pm to 8pm on Sunday 14th June at the Highcliff Marriott Hotel (St Michael's Road, West Cliff, Bournemouth BH2 5DU)

Monday 15th June 2020: Annual Dinner at the Bournemouth Pavilion

The Annual Dinner will be held on Monday 15th June at the Bournemouth Pavilion (Westover Road, Bournemouth BH1 2BU).  Tickets should be purchased in advance for this event (Upper rate £65/ Lower rate £45)


The conference will be held at the Bournemouth International Centre, Exeter Road, Bournemouth, BH2 5BH

By train: Both South West and Cross Country trains run direct services to Bournemouth

By car: A car park is available at the BIC for delegates wishing to drive to the venue. Standard fees apply

By air: There are flights to both Bournemouth and Southampton Airports from across the UK and Europe.


Bournemouth offers a wide variety of accommodation.  An accommodation service is being provided by Business Events Bournemouth.  It offers a range of hotels in the town at a negotiated rate.  Delegates are advised to book their room as early as possible to secure this rate as rooms will be released once the conference is less than a month away.
