Guidance Platform

The production of national guidance has been an important role for the Association over many years.

The Association of Breast Surgery has developed a guidance platform to advise on the available national and international guidance and to comment on its implementation where necessary. The guidance platform is divided into sections to enable updates to be produced as new guidance is released. The Association of Breast Surgery will continue to produce its own guidelines where it feels specific guidance is required.

ABS welcomes and endorses the guidance contained in the Vacuum Assisted Excision service resources website. The content of the website is the work of a multidisciplinary group of breast screening experts and offers ABS members invaluable clinical advice as well as covering areas such as patient information, building a business case, advice for hospital coders and educational resources.

The website is generously supported and maintained by CRBard, a commercial healthcare company who have had no editorial input into the contents of the resources.
