Sloane Project

The Sloane Project is a national prospective cohort study of non-invasive breast neoplasia diagnosed through the NHS Breast Screening Programme. The Project commenced in 2003 to evaluate the radiological assessment, surgical management, pathology, adjuvant therapy and outcomes for non-invasive breast neoplasia. Accrual for patients with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) ceased in 2012 but is ongoing for patients with epithelial atypia/in situ neoplasia, along with the collection of follow-up and vital status data for all patients.

The Sloane Project team are part of the Screening Quality and Assurance Service (SQAS) within the Medical Directorate at NHS England and NHS Improvement.
